#3 LONG FORM IMPROV – GETTING OUT OF YOUR HEAD
9am-12pm, $75
Improvisers, have you ever said of your improv performance, “I was in my head up there?” W hen an improviser says, “I was in my head,” what they are really saying is that they were in their LEFT brain on stage. We practice improv in our LEFT brain and we ideally perform in our RIGHT. Kenny Werner, the Jazz piano giant says that the worst question a jazz piano player can ask themselves in performance is: “Am I cookin’?” This three hour session will teach performers how to thrive in their RIGHT brains, through LEFT brain exercises. Join Rich Talarico, alumnus of Chicago’s The Second City and Improv Olympic, as he leads this workshop that will help players find an organic flow.

#4 IMPROV – INITIATIONS & GIFTING
5-8pm, $75
Students will learn how to start scenes, use object work, and emphasize discovery over intention. Giving and using gifts allow players to build characters while focusing on relationships (over situations) and to dig further into characters and story. Join Rich Talarico, alumnus of Chicago’s The Second City and Improv Olympic, as he leads this workshop that will leave you with many tools to instantly create organic characters and worlds.
