Melanie Penn

Melanie started her improv journey with her high school team in 2001. In 2009 she was lucky enough to enroll in what became The Improv Shop’s first graduating class and has immersed herself ever since. Melanie started teaching in 2012 when she developed a curriculum for beginners’ classes, and since then has taught all levels of The Improv Shop training center, as well as dozens of on- and off-site workshops.

In addition to teaching, Melanie also coaches at The Improv Shop for the team Scottie and performs regularly with the house team Burnside. She also plays on independent teams No, You First and Ghosts, and with the ensemble cast of Field Day.
