Depth Work
At a certain point in our improv journey, trying harder stops working. Depth Work invites you to step away from performance pressure and reconnect with the joy of discovery. Through mindfulness, breathwork, and emotionally honest scenework, we’ll slow down, let go of control, and practice being fully present—both onstage and off.
This class isn’t about adding new tools or chasing advanced forms. It’s about softening effort, quieting the inner critic, and learning to trust what’s already there.
We’ll breathe before we speak. We’ll play from the body. We’ll follow what feels true instead of what feels clever.
Each week introduces exercises and perspectives that only reveal their full potential over time.
In this class, you’ll explore:
- Slowing down: Savor each moment on stage instead of rushing or overthinking
- Letting go: Embrace not knowing what’s next and stop trying to control scenes
- Mindful presence: Use breath, stillness, and reflection to support flow and deepen awareness in scenes
- Deeper connection: Strengthen your connection to yourself so you can respond more freely and authentically with others
- Pressure-free play: Rediscover the joy of improv with no pressure to be “funny” or perfect
This class is for graduates who:
- Want to deepen their practice without chasing results
- Are curious about what happens when they stop trying so hard
- Feel stuck trying to recreate past success
- Want to reconnect with improv as a practice instead of a product
This is a step toward a more present, embodied, and joyful approach to the art form—and to daily life… if you want.
