Chaotic Goodness: Mining the gold of playfulness from your Improv through to your Sketch

Creating scenes that incorporate your personality, your personal brand of humor and your specific type of playful fun.  You’ll discover how to turn your silliest improv bits into real scenes and the pillars of making a unique sketch show.  From identifying your improv gold, to the tools that will help your sketch connect with your audience every time.

This workshop will consist of a daytime portion from 10am-4pm with a 90 minute break for writing/lunch from 12-1:30pm. The workshop will cap with a show featuring the fruits of your labor that evening at 8pm on The Improv Shop’s Mainstage.

Pat Dwyer is an improviser, writer, podcaster, professional speaker and esteemed United States Junior Park Ranger – an honor traditionally reserved for 5-12 year olds (Pat got all his after 25). He has toured, performed, and taught with such Chicago greats as The Second City, iO Theater, ComedySportz Chicago, Baby Wants Candy, Mi Productions and as a member of his award winning sketch duo Kerpatty. Pat has written over 20 original sketch comedy shows, a myriad of TV and Web based commercials, hundreds of sketches, a successful YouTube Series and a host of fairly unsuccessful yet wildly compelling tumblr blogs. When not out and about, Pat co-hosts “One Things”, a comedy episodic podcast where we do our best to focus and learn about one thing(…s).  He is currently working as an international speaker, working with individuals and corporations alike to inject strategic levity into the people side of change.
