We Should Write Together
Described as “frenetic” by the Riverfront Times and “a huge weirdo who won’t put out” by her 11th grade bully, Ella Fritts has is one of the most decorated comedians in St. Louis. Over the past near decade (her entire adulthood!) of comedy, her more recognizable feats include performing stand-up across the country, opening for national headliners such as Maria Bamford and Shane Mauss, tenures in the sketch group Bare Knuckle Comedy and on house teams at The Improv Shop, and a woman-on-the-street webseries, Ella Fritts: Street Person. Being a jill-of-all-trades in comedy was always the goal, but Ella found her home in alt comedy rooms, with a vacation home in a cup of ranch dressing.
In We Should Write Together, her first special, Ella combines her honed stand-up routine with narrative, telling a story around her first comedy festival, and the fling she had with a newer comedian. Fans and friends will feel right at home hearing more of her personal absurdist nightmares with pointed political undertones, her family will be even more disappointed, and those new to her style will connect with her tragedy-about-comedy lived experience.
